January 12 (Los Angeles) --- To bring needed help to the devastated victims of the recent tsunami in Southeast Asia, the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), America's #1 religious network, has pledged $100,000 to the tsunami relief effort.
"We are deeply grieved by this massive disaster, and TBN and its viewers will do all we can to help," says Paul Crouch Sr., Founder of TBN.
Crouch, who discussed the Tsunami disaster on a recent TBN program, declared that TBN has pledged $100,000 to the relief effort. He also called on TBN viewers to contribute financially. "Our viewers want to be a part of the relief effort so we are giving them that opportunity," says Crouch.
TBN will coordinate its financial contributions with Franklin Graham, the world renown evangelist and son of Billy Graham. Franklin Graham is also President of Samaritan's Purse, a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization that provides spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love.
Samaritan's Purse has announced that it is working around the clock to bring clean water and other life-saving assistance to survivors of the tsunami waves that devastated the Indian Ocean coastline the day after Christmas. Emergency teams are on the ground in Indonesia and Sri Lanka distributing food, medicine, water filters, temporary shelters, and survival kits to families who have been left homeless and destitute.
"We are pleased to work with Franklin Graham and Samaritan's Purse in this noble effort," says Crouch.
Crouch also announced that TBN regular guest, Benny Hinn, will be meeting with the Prime Minister of Indonesia to bring needed funds for the relief effort.
"Through our prayers and financial contributions we want the people of Southeast Asia to know we care," says Crouch. "We want to minister to them in their time of need."
TBN now reaches every major continent via 46 satellites and over 10,000 television and cable affiliates worldwide. In the United States alone, TBN is available to 92% of total households.
